Presented is a handsome Tuttle sterling silver 102-piece large dinner size flatware set. This set is in the Onslow pattern which has a wonderful triangular ribbed pattern on the handles. This set is an accurate reproduction of the original English early 1700 pattern. These pieces have a substantial weight, with thick handles and wide handle tips, especially on the knives. All pieces except for the 2 pc salad serving set are sterling silver, the 2 salad serving pieces are marked electro-plate silver-plated. This set serves 12, but we are missing one dinner knife. Each piece, except for the 2 silver-plated items, are marked on the reverse with Tuttle Sterling, the pine tree maker’s mark for Tuttle, and the date mark which has the initials of the U.S. president that was in office at the time. In the 10th photo you can see this mark has the initial DE, for Dwight Eisenhower, and "I" roman numeral underneath to indicate his first term in office. Most of this set is marked with the same “DE I” that you see photographed. 56 of the 100 sterling pieces in this set were made during Eisenhower's presidency, 1953-1961. The set has pieces made during every presidency between Franklin D. Roosevelt to Ronald Reagan, meaning that the entire sets dates between 1933-1989. Below you'll see what this set includes, as well as their presidential date marks: (ex. DE I (5) - 5 of the pieces were made during Dwight Eisenhower's 1st term)

There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. We are including with the set the felt-lined flatware storage chest it came to us in. The chest is in good shape. There are a few scratches on the box, but the handles are strong and the box does an excellent job of protecting the silver from tarnish and wear. The chest is a free gift and does not factor in to the price or condition statement of the set, we merely include it as a convenience for the buyer. If you do not want this storage chest, please let us know and we will not ship it. The weighable silver weight for the set is 4154 grams or 146.5 regular ounces. This weight does not include the 11 knives, the 12 butter knives with stainless blades, and does not include the 2 Plated serving pieces.
